In the area for business and decided to try this place out for lunch. The restaurant is rough around the edges, both inside and out. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the food. The sushi was pretty good, and it was cold. The hibachi I got was also very good. I had the steak and chicken with rice and noodles. I didn't notice the hibachi table grills until I was finished and I can't say that I would come here for dinner, but for lunch it was very doable and I would come back again for lunch.

I almost walked out upon entering because the atmosphere was steamy, stuffy and greasy. Everything, chairs, tables, walls, etc was covered in a film of grease. The floors were so greasy they were slippery. We were hungry so we decided to stay. We didn't go for the hibachi show, just wanted a table and dinner. We were seated promptly, but waited 10 minutes for drinks. The service was slow and dinner came out in shifts. First my family was served, then 5 minutes later mine came out. My calamari was slimy, rubbery and gross. The beef teriyaki was overdone and probably old. After ordering four meals the shrimp and the rice were the only good things on the table. Hoping to at least have a good dessert (the menu featured fried ice cream and cheesecake) we were told they don't serve dessert anymore. So why was it on the menu? We could still smell the grease in our hair and clothes when we got home. Kobe might have been good place in the past, but no more. I feel like I just wasted 80 bucks. Never again.

I was hankering for some Japanese steak house action while I was in Florida, and people kept on saying this place was pretty awesome. Skeptical I took myslef there, and I was not disappointed. Now it is a bit on the small side and there are not many grills, but we went on a wekk night and it was not so busy. It was pretty typical of any other Japanese steak house I have been to with the seating and ordering. The food was really excellent and the chef was certainly entertaining. We had a problem getting our order though, as the second chef did not show up until the other one was almost all done. That might of been the only hic up in an otherwise good experience. The prices were fair, 10 - 20 per plate depending on what you order. The banana dessert at the end was really awesome! Overall this place is great to get your Japanese steak house fix if you happen to be in the area. Would go back if I find myself in Florida again.

Miso soup and vegetarian stir fry (no egg) was good. Fresh ingredients. Hubbys calamari appetizer served with his dinner was cold, flavorless, noodles and shrimp were a bit salty. I was disappointed that they did not offer avocado or peanut roll sushi..

One of the worst restaurants I've been in.. We sat by the door while at least 5 employees passed us by without saying a word. Then they seated the people who came in after us (without a reservation) BEFORE us. Then they separated my husband, daughter, and I at the grill, when there were plenty of seats together. Waited another 10 minutes for someone to ask what we wanted to drink.. and they completely FORGOT my husband's and daughters drinks! Asked for a sushi menu twice.. then they never came to pick it up despite us trying to get their attention. Then we finally got our food.. mine was supposed to be spicy, and I couldn't even taste any spice at all. This was the WORST hibachi food we've ever had! It was bland! $65 down the drain.. I knew I should've gone to Genghis Grill!!!

Food wasn't good quality, prices were cheap but you really do get what you pay for here!

With every journey into a restaurant we've never visited that people rave about....We're almost like small children on Christmas eve. Bubbling with excitement and joy. Much to my shagrin....Kobe Steakhouse was A DUD!!!!!! People have said great things about it so it could just be me. But, I went here for a co-workers going away party with a group of about 20 people. It didnt take long for us to be seated because we have reservations. The parking lot here leave much to be desired with tight space and all the gravel in the back. I do believe we waited 45 minutes to an Hour for the Hibachi Chef to come out. UMMMMM really? No bueno amigos, NO BUENO! *Thats no good if you no habla* Furthermore...if you've had hibachi at 1 restaurant...you've had them all. At this point, the Chef would have to pop lock, head spin and whichaway with his cooking utensils to be impressive. The food is always SEVERLY bland to me! Your girl likes is SPICY, BAAABBBAAAYY!!! Bring on the Red Hot and Texas Pete, WOOOP!! I was really torn between 2 and 3 stars. I went to the gym this morning and my endorphins are pumping making me overly positive. Then I remembered, The owner came out and said that she had to let 2 chefs go b/c of budgeting to keep prices down in the restaurant. So, endorphins win: 3 STARS. Maybe, it's better without the large crown of mouths to feed. The pop locking might be a crowd favorite too. lmao!

Good sushi and hibachi, decent prices. Inside could use a little sprucing up. The only problem with this place is there are so many sushi joints in this area and I have been to a couple that trump this place. Best one for hibachi on 23rd st though.

I came here for lunch and was really really disappointed. I sat at the sushi bar and was greeted immediately. I ordered a bento box and was served the soup and dinner within ten minutes. The food was not good. I really hope that what I ate was chicken but at this point I can't really be sure. The salad was wilted and the sushi rolls tasted a little bit off. Yuck. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant didn't help either. Just being in here made me feel gross. Sometimes this is okay if there food is good (about 90% of vietnamese restaurants). Unfortunately, bad food and a sticky soy sauce bottle gives this place one star.

Hands down, the WORST meal of my life. Straight diarrhea city. Might as well have gone on the Vomitron afterwards. I was so tempted to get up and leave after the bland miso soup that I had to douse with soy sauce, but I was with a semi-large group and we decided to stay. Then came the "ginger" salad. The sauce looked like puke and it tasted like garbage, and I'm not exaggerating here. I ordered steak and shrimp with fried rice. The hibachi chef took forever to come out, and I felt bad for the guy because he was actually a decent chef, but he stood no chance given what he had to cook with. The steak was not fresh, the chicken(thank God I didn't order it) looked discolored and he had to literally burn it to make sure it was "edible", and don't even get me started on the diver scallops - thankfully I didn't order that either, but a buddy of mine had to go straight to the bathroom after a bite. The best thing on the menu is Sapporo - the only thing worth ordering from this place. Even the Sake was disgusting. Gave all of us instant heartburn. I hate to be so critical of an establishment, but I still feel sick from eating their food after 3 days. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

The building is run down a bit and the atmosphere isn't exactly charming. But the sushi is decent and the prices aren't bad. Not my favorite but definitely not the worst!

We were there on 2/23/13 and were disappointed in the decor and arrangement of the grills. Being this is a Kobe Steakhouse we expected the same as those we frequent in Orlando. They also do not have the white sauce we love. However, keeping things in perspective, the food was excellent and the orangish sauce tasted pretty good. If its decent food and lots of it you want - give it a try. If its a true experience I would select another Japanese steakhouse.

Great place. Sushi, regular table menu and hibachi. A fully stocked bar and friendly, courteous, helpful staff. The F-16 roll is a must-have.

Best Hibachi restaurant on the planet. Period. Great prices, great food, great service. The Hibachi chefs might not be the most technically skilled when it comes to knife tossing, but the food never disappoints.

Kobe has four Hibachi stations and a Sushi Bar. We frequent Kobe mainly for the Sushi. They have a wide variety of traditional rolls. Try the F-16! They also have great seaweed and squid salads. The service is very good. The staff is always friendly. You will likely be greeted by the owner while you are dining.

The restaurant is looking very dated inside and out however the food and service were good. Five of us had the Hibachi dinner, the filet mignon, shrimp and lobster were all well cooked as were the vegetables and rice, would have liked to see a salad alternative to the soup which was very meaty for the two non meat eaters in our party.

Great sushi, the White Orchid roll is fantastic. The only place in town that I know which has a cucumber salad and it is superb. One of our favorite places.

If you love sushi, this is the best place to eat in Panama City. It beats the other Japanese Steakhouses! The ambiance is simple but the staff and owner make it all worthwhile. There best rolls are the F-16, the J-Roll and the White Orchid.
